The ocean within

I took a journey deep inside my soul.

What I found there was an ocean.

It seems endless

It seems bottomless 

A dark ocean

Can’t see what’s beneath the surface 

A mysterious ocean

It’s mostly calm, there are rarely big waves 

It either has no bottom or it’s bottom is all flat

The surface is crisp with the breeze that blows within 

My inner sun reflects on it making it look like an ocean of melted silver  

It’s mighty 

I admire and fear it

I am afraid of what’s inside those waters 

I am afraid of the unknown that lives inside of me
