Yoga Practice
Note: It is possible to
experience the yoga practice as if you are dreaming while awake. When you stop
focusing on your thoughts and put the attention of your conscious mind in that
moment, in your body, in the movements, in the act of breathing, you allow your
unconscious mind to take care of all those thoughts that remain in the
background. And your brain acts as if you are asleep, working all those
rambling ideas and trying to find some logic or connection between them. Of
course our unconscious mind has a different kind of logic than our conscious
one. If you are able to observe with your conscious mind all the work being
perform by your unconscious, without interfering, you will realize your mind is
bringing you thoughts as crazy as the dreams you can have night time. And you
see all those random ideas and inputs you have been having the last days
emerging weirdly connected to each other.
Welcome everyone. Today we will
work on our yoga focusing on the heart. Take the focus out of our mind and
direct it to our body. Looking to create awareness to our emotions and
sensations. Looking to expand our heart’s capacity to circulate the blood
through our veins, and to circulate life’s energies; to circulate love. Let’s
close our eyes, sit in a cross legs position. Cross your legs, cross your arms,
cross your fingers, cross paths with yourself. Look yourself in the eye and
make a promise to respect and love what you are, and understanding we are all
one and everything is a unity, promise to extend this love to everyone and
everything. There is a piece of us in all that lives, and to truly love
ourselves we need to love it all. Take a deep breath and feel your lungs
expand, feel your chest open and your heart stretching. Exhale and put out all
that does not matter, all the doubts, the insecurities, the sadness and hate.
Make space to grow, detach from past heart feelings. Open your arms while
breathing in, embrace the world, embrace life. Breath in good energies, feel
your body with clean air, feel the love reaching every cell of your body.
Exhale and give back to the world all the good you’ve received. Breath in
opening your arms one more time. Feel that you are holding the world in your
arms. It is not heavy, there is no effort, it is comfortable and fulfilling.
Now slowly exhale, close your palms in front of your chest and be part of the
world. Move to table top position, go to a high plank, put your right leg in
the front between your arms. Put your future in front of your past. Put your present
on top of those two. Rise up to the warrior one pose, breath in and feel the
strength to face all your battles fill your body, breath out and feel relaxed
and focused. Visualize the end of the road ahead of you and direct your
energies to it. Lean back in reversal warrior to get impulse to lean forward,
to go forward, ahead.
